Severe complications associated with central venous catheter placement could be successfully repaired. We report a case of iatrogenic aortic arch puncture by a central venous catheter from the left internal jugular vein. As the patient's prognosis was poor, a percutaneous procedure was performed. Aortography was performed using a pigtail catheter as a guide. A wire was introduced from the venous catheter into the aorta and the catheter was removed. The hole in the aorta was closed with a Perclose closure system. The patient's condition was stable and the procedure was performed without complications.
