ABSTRACT
Science is progressing and holding the hands of science, so are we: Helping mankind enter a new era. An era of nanotechnology. Nanotechnology is the science that intends to manipulate matter at the nanometer level and the application of the same to medicine is called Nanomedicine. Nanotechnology has a promising future for advanced diagnostics, targeted drug delivery, and biosensors. The term was first coined by Norio Taniguchi in, 1974 and then in 1986 K. Eric Drexler independently coined the term Nanotechnology. 'NANO'- DWARF. The scale is referred to as Nanoscale, atomic or molecular scale. The basic idea of nanotechnology, used in the narrow sense of the world, is to employ individual atoms and molecules to construct functional structures. Recent researches are mainly based on the fabrication of nanostructures, Nano actuators, and Nano motors, along with means to assemble them into larger systems, economically and in great numbers. Nanotechnology has a wide application in different fields of Dentistry and in particular, Periodontology. The poster aims to compile the different applications of Nanotechnology in Periodontics. It is one of the top advanced recent techniques and could revolutionize a new form of Medical and Dental Practice.
