概要

Marpe in the treatment no surgical for classe 3 crossbite patients and sleep apnea with snoring

Abdalhadi Kawaiah

Abstract objective: The objective of this presentation is to exhibit some of the effects, changes and corrections attained with miniscrewassisted rapid palatal expansion (MARPE) in areas concerning Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, as well as airway. The documentation and results were gathered from current patients of A. Kawaiah Orthodontics where significant skeletal effects took place without surgery, even in older patients 60+ where conventional facemask therapy has limited skeletal effect. In this presentation, the application of the MARPE as an orthopedic anchorage device shows positive results in its ability to treat patients with class III malocclusions and promoting guided facial growth. Three-dimensional (3D) Digital imaging analysis, polysomnography tests (for a special case of Severe OSAS) and patient observations and interviews were used. Methods: Images obtained from cone beam computed tomography from before (T0), during (T#) and after removing (TF) MARPE in teenage and adult patients were used for analysis. Volume render of the airway from various planes where the nasal cavity (NC) and pharynx, respectively, were set to be measured. Changes in the total volume in cubic centimeters (cc) and minimum area in square millimeters (mm) were compared at each plane. Results: The cross-sectional areas in the upper airway (UA), nasal cavity (NC) and upper half of the pharynx showed substantial increase since MARPE activation. Including one patient with severe obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) that reported to. By changing the vectors of force, the maxilla can be displaced differentially in varying degrees of forward, downward, and rotational movements. Conclusion: Is recommended for patients with midfacial deficiency, inappropriate bites, as well as for patients experiencing poor breathing (mouth breathing) as the treatment protocol can be customized for each unique patient.
