概要

Carotid artery stenosis and skin cancer at the surgical incision site

Mustafa Karaçelik

A 72-year-old male patient was admitted to our hospital with a diagnosis of transient ischemic attack. A mild hemorrhagic lesion was found and diagnosed as basal squamous cell carcinoma. A carotid stent was placed in the carotid artery. The possibility of malignancy in this type of lesion at the surgical incision site in elderly patients should always be considered, and endovascular treatment should be prioritized over surgery.
